We are excited to welcome Dr. Sorenson, a highly skilled and accomplished general surgeon, to our medical team at Surgery Associates at Titus!

Dr. Sorenson brings a wealth of experience and expertise, with an impressive educational and professional background. After earning his MD from the University of Texas Health Science Center School of Medicine in San Antonio in 1991, he went on to complete his residency in General Surgery at the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences. He is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and has been licensed to practice in both Texas and Arkansas for many years.

Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Sorenson has held leadership roles at notable institutions such as Wadley Regional Medical Center, where he served as Chief of Surgery for numerous years. He has also been a valued partner at Collom & Carney Clinic Associates and has contributed significantly as a Clinical Adjunct Faculty member at various medical schools, including Sam Houston State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine Arkansas State University.

Dr. Sorenson is a proud Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and has received numerous honors and awards, including the Robert M. Bransford, MD Memorial Award and recognition in the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.

Welcome Dr. Peterson! 👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️

We are excited to introduce Beth Peterson, MD, who has recently joined our team at Surgery Associates at Titus as a General Surgeon. With an impressive educational background, including an MD from Louisiana State University Health Science Center, as well as a residency and internship at LSU Health Shreveport and years of specialized training, Dr. Peterson is a highly skilled surgeon with a commitment to excellence.

She brings a wealth of experience, including serving as Chief of Surgery and Trauma Medical Director at Wadley Regional Medical Center. Dr. Peterson is board certified in surgery, has received numerous honors, and has been recognized for her outstanding contributions to the field, including the ALT Magazine Reader’s Choice Award for "Best Surgeon" from 2020–2023.

Outside of medicine, she is an accomplished equestrian, with multiple World Championship Finals appearances, demonstrating a passion for both healthcare and competitive sports.
